I'm not a good knitter. I have friends who knit the most beautiful baby sweaters and booties, but the hard truth is that knitting seems to require a kind of mathematical precision and perfectionism, qualities which don't come naturally to me. For some reason when I'm sewing I seem to get by without those qualities... but in knitting it just doesn't work.
Since I can't knit sweaters for Rosie, I was happy to come across this tutorial for refashioning a man's sweater into a toddler's sweater. I tried it this weekend with a sweater that I had in the pile I'm gathering for a project like this (a project I may never get to...).
It came out pretty well, and all it cost me was the price of the buttons.
