baby food

Yesterday I put a dab of smashed banana on my fingertip and gave it to our girl.

She grimaced,

but came back for more.

Today I mixed the banana with milk and used a spoon. She liked that better. See for yourself:

I have like ten craft projects on the docket, but I feel like bumping this one to the top of the list. I have great vintage fabrics I brought home from Grams' house, and Rosie needs a doll that doesn't say "My First Doll" on its belly.

Two other new additions to my baby's life:

See those birds hanging on the wall? That's a piece of Cavallini wrapping paper, purchased for under $5. I love their papers.

And secondly,

a 1931 Winston edition of Rose in Bloom (sequel to Eight Cousins) by Louisa May Alcott, in which Rose is in favor of woman's suffrage :-) The Winston editions are my favorite - I also have the Winston edition of Little Men. It's in excellent condition and worth $50. Rose in Bloom, a little scuffed, was only $8.

We have that same blond baby doll. I get irritated when things are labeled like that. When I was going through baby clothes, I got rid of at least three outfits that were given to us that were labeled "Baby's First Christmas".

I like the one you made!

I forgot that I changed my settings so that I don't get emails when I get comments, so I'm just now seeing these!
Thanks, everybody.
And Desi, I gave away my "baby's first christmas" items too. As well as some that said "princess" and "cowgirl in charge". :-)
