If you just want to be in the know, all you need to do is get the "Dark Was the Night" compilation, a veritable who's who of of-the-moment indie musicians. And the proceeds go to raise awareness and money for fighting HIV/AIDS. AND, it's GREAT music.
After you get that, I'd get Denison Witmer's new "Carry the Weight," and then Daniel Martin Moore's "Stray Age".
