humidity

Lately, on clear nights after dinner, we've been taking walks in the neighborhood. Last night Jack and I walked with Q., M.Y., and E. over to the university campus. M.Y. was headed to library to study, so we walked her there.

The UW library is gorgeous - gothic architecture and stained glass windows. The girls told us that it looks like Harry Potter's school, and it does feel like magical things might happen there. The whole campus is lovely, even though the cherry tree are no longer in full bloom; the night was clear, and we could see the sunset and snow-capped mountains.

And Jack and I admitted to each other that we live in a gorgeous place.

But despite all that, I'm itching for some hot weather. The average high in May in Seattle is 65, and June is only 69. I can't handle this! I need some moisture in the air, some heavy heat to induce that sense of languidity that sends you to the hammock or underneath a ceiling fan. I need to spend a little time in the deep south.

--------------

Yesterday Jack was officially accepted to the UW MATESOL program! He already completed half the degree in California, so now he will finish it up.

Harry Potter!

It's 75 in New York today. In the sun, it's pretty hot. When does it get warm in Seattle? Or does it? You must love global warming.

I think you need to visit College Station for a couple days and you will love to be back in Seattle! Congrats to Jack!

It is only about 85 today, cooler than yesterday and practically 100 percent humidity thanks to the endless chances of rain.

I wouldn't trade the thunderstorms though...
