Disappointing.
Older sister Sarah (Parker Posey) is every cliche we've ever seen on the big or small screen of the type A successful career woman. She's barely more likable than she was in You've Got Mail.
But that wasn't surprising. What was surprising was how much was the same. Score by Grant Lee Philips. Opening scene, Sarah coming down the stairs: wasn't that Lorelei's house, Lorelei's high heels, bouncy brown hair, and fast-talking banter? It must have been, because later she was hooking up with Max, her second season boyfriend. And then after that, she met a female relative for lunch and they were served coffee by a surly diner man (who was wearning, naturally, a Sonic Youth t-shirt; you know they had a guest appearance in Stars Hollow, right?)
Same show, second verse, a little bit louder and a little bit worse.
I laughed out loud twice, though. It's certainly not the worst show on tv. And it could get better.
