I'm losing my command of the English language. Six years ago, graduating from college, I loved words. I loved their meanings and etymology and sounds. I loved combining them into things called sentences.
Now, after three years of teaching "words" to kids who sometimes don't even know what a sentence is, I still love words. But I'm afraid my spoken vocabulary is shrinking every day.
"Write---sentence---sentence-----is words---from here to here---big letter----period."
I can't speak anymore. How am I supposed to write? Is teaching them to write causing me to lose the ability?
